How To Continue Coming Up With New Ideas As A Music Journalist
New ideas are floating all around you, learn how to capture them through the tips below
One of the skills that has helped me throughout my writing career has been my endurance. It wasn’t something that has always been there, but like a muscle, I’ve strengthened it over time. Early on in my journey, the thought of writing a new piece every week would have freaked me out. However, now I embrace that challenge with pure excitement.
Many of the writers who have been there with me from the beginning didn’t have the same mindset. For whatever reason, be it other occupations or a passion for the vocation, they decided to publish less frequently or not at all. It’s bittersweet when this happens because oftentimes I’m a huge fan of their work.
There are also other writers at the other end of the spectrum who publish nearly daily. While I wouldn’t recommend that method for a new writer, I admire the commitment and passion they bring to the field. It rejuvenates us all in love with the art form of music writing and pushes us all to be better.
