I got the promotion! After over a month of mediocre pay and far too many 7-day work weeks I finally landed a full time position at an intercultural exchange organization in New York. It took me years to finally land safely in my dream field, but I’m finally here. While the joy is still soaking in the love and support from my coworkers has been overwhelming. I can’t wait to meet up with more of them as the weather warms up and after-work hangouts become more of a thing again.
There are a couple more updates coming for IEYL in the summer or fall. I’m still developing the work plans for them, but stay tuned for updates in that direction. As I mentioned a few months ago, the last updates (new profile pic, website, newsletter, and logo) were just the first wave of updates. The goal is to really make an imprint on the music journalism/critic space moving forward. I can’t name the number of artists, students, and industry people who’ve chatted with me about some of the IEYL articles. I hope to take this positive energy and really level up. One article at a time! :D
